clarification of access privs to samba:
 
We are only allowing access to computers on the
astronomy subnetwork or on the AirBears inside Campbell
Hall.  This would mean computers with fixed ip addresses
that start with 128.32.92, computers using the wired
firewall/dhcp service, computers with their one hardware
firewall, or computers accessing a wireless access point
inside Campbell Hall.

This is to prevent "blackhats" from attacking our samba
server and bringing it (and the rest of our network) to 
a standstill as a result of attempts to hack into it.
