AT UC BERKELEY

Coordinator: D. Backer

Time: 4:10-5:00 PM Tuesdays

Place: 544 Campbell

Tea, often with speaker, at 3:30 in 6th floor lounge

This seminar series provides a survey of the research activities and opportunities available to UC Berkeley graduate students interested in Planetary Science, Astrophysics and Cosmology. Research groups in the Astronomy, Physics and Earth & Planetary Sciences Departments along with those at the Space Sciences Laboratory, Radio Astronomy Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will be represented.

The format is a weekly, one-hour presentation of current interests by a representative (usually the PI) of a research group. Occasionally we will organize a lab tour as part of the presentation. Astronomy 290B in Spring 2003 will continue the series.

First year graduate students in Astronomy must take this course; graduate students in other Departments, and others interested in finding out what's going are all welcome.
