Student Awards

Adrian Down won the 2007 University Medal, the award for the most distinguished graduating student on Berkeley's campus. Read the press release here; the research papers he published in AST 199 are listed first among his many accomplishments.

Destry Saul won the 2007 Astronomy Department Poster Award for the poster he presented at the Physics and Astronomy Undergraduate Research Poster Session.

Tiffany Davis, Aidin Fathalizadeh, Ferah Munshi, and Destry Saul were selected to present their research at the 21st National Conference on Undergraduate Research, held in April 2007. See pictures here.

Ferah Munshi won the 2007 Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Award for her research at the American Astronomical Society (AAS) conference in Seattle, Washington. The award is given to recognize exemplary research by students who present posters at the semi-annual AAS meetings.

Ximena Cid won first place out of 500 undergraduate students at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science conference in Austin, Texas, in 2004. The prize was based on her oral presentation and poster about her research.
