Astronomy Software Tools
APT: the Astronomer's Proposal Tool
APT is installed, but you should read the online docs about it. It requires a computer with something like 512 megabytes of memory to run efficiently. I suggest you run it on meso if your workstation does not have this much memory.
To run:
/apps2/APT1400/runAPT
ps the web site for instructions and FAQs is http://apt.stsci.edu
SPOT: The Spitzer Planning Observations Tool
For those interested in using it, it is run with the command
/apps2/SPOT/spot
It is java-based and is likely to run slowly on workstations without enough memory (if your workstation has less than 256 meg of ram, I would recommend using meso to run this).
