Getting to Berkeley

The closest airport to Berkeley is the Oakland International Airport. A typical taxi ride will run about $45-50 each way. There are also shared rides (such as SuperShuttle) for less. The AirBART shuttle and BART can also get you to downtown Berkeley (55mins, $5.35).

You might also consider flying into San Francisco International Airport and taking the BART directly to downtown Berkeley (55mins, $8.65).

Because parking near UC Berkeley can be so challenging, we recommend using public transportation such as BART or buses to get to campus.

Parking on campus is not free and the public garages tend to fill up quickly. The Underhill Parking Lot, at College and Channing, is one of the largest public pay-to-park lots near the conference venue. Despite it's size, please be aware that it is often full by 9am. There is a machine near the entrance where you may purchase your permit, $15 per day-- ONLY SMALL BILLS AND COINS accepted; the machine does not accept credit cards!

More campus parking information can be found at UC Berkeley Parking & Transportation.
