Hyperaccreting Stellar Mass Black Holes
Enrico Ramirez-Ruiz (IAS) - WED 22 Feb at 12:00 noon
Most theoretical discussions of gamma-ray bursts attribute their energy production either to an accreting black hole or to a precursor stage whose inevitable end point is a stellar mass black hole. Attention is given to stellar mass black holes orbited by a torus of neutron-density matter, questions of quasi-spherical accretion, viscous dissipation and neutrino cooling.
The seminar will be held in 544 Campbell Hall.
