Radio jets and X-ray states in black hole X-ray binaries
Elena Gallo (UC Santa Barbara) - Nov 20 at 12:00 noon
Galactic black hole X-ray binaries provide an excellent laboratoy for
investigating the physics of time-variable accretion processes and
related phenomena, most notably outflows. I will review the latest
progresses made in assessing the interplay between inflow and outflow
in these systems from an observational point of view, present a
unified phenomenological model for black hole X-ray binary jets over
the different accretion regimes and briefly discuss the differences
and similarities with neutron star systems.
The seminar will be held in 544 Campbell Hall.
