``Gravitational waves propagate at the speed of thought.'' - Sir Arthur Eddington
Abstract: Gravitational waves have the potential to be a powerful
tool for astrophysical and cosmological
science. We discuss the theory
behind gravitational radiation (including the distance amplitude relation)
, as well as
possible sources. We also study
the LISA and LIGO detectors, and the cosmological significance of
their observations. Finally,
we conclude with a brief discussion of
why gravitational radiation is so intriguing to cosmologists.
