I will give an updated version of the ISM course AY216 based on the course that James Graham and I started in 2003, where equal weight was given to the diffuse and dense components, with the latter including an introduction to star formation. Since Steve Stahler just gave a course on star formation last fall, I will reduce the coverage of this topic by stopping at the formation of molecular cloud cores. In its place I plan to give more coverage to the IGM and to the evolution of cosmic gas properties over time.
