This is an updated version of the ISM course AY216 that James Graham and I started in 2003, where equal weight was given to the diffuse and dense components, with the latter including an introduction to star formation. The coverage of this topic is reduced this semester in favor of an introduction to the IGM and the evolution of cosmic gas properties over time.
