Names That Sound Like or are Verbs
This is a project borne from the creative minds of
Josh Bloom, Geoff
Criqui, Stephen Agular, and John Ciorciari.
This page was listed as one of Mirsky's Worst of the Web on July 27,
1995! All of us at the Names That Sound like Verbs Project are quite
excited. Keep those comments rolling in. The most special reply so
far comes by way of a Prodigy user (surprise, surprise...):
"Please rename and retitle your page: a good half of your listings are
NOUNS, not VERBS!"
The following list contains proper first names of people that sound
like (eg., Carrie) or are (eg., Rob) verbs. Wherever the meaning of a
list member is somewhat obscure, I've tried to include a link to its
definition. Wherever the list member is not an obvious first name,
I've tried to provide examples of famous/quasi-well-known persona with
the name. If you would like to add to this list just send your
suggestion along with an example of a well-known person with the name
to jbloom@cfa.harvard.edu
