Place:Edison Pettit's observatory in Pasadena. Shows Lyot, Pettit, and Nicholson. The image shows Pettit's 3 angstrom bandpass Interference Polarizing Monochromator mounted to his personal 6-inch Clark telescope at his home observatory in Pasadena. Pettit did all of the optical and machine work in his own machine shop.
