I grew up in the suburbs of New York City. I was an undergrad at the University of Chicago (graduated in 2000, Physics & Math) and received my Ph.D in astrophysics from the California Institute of Technology (June 2005). I’m married to Olga, a pathologist at Stanford, and for fun and exercise I play ice hockey.
