I work on a variety of topics in theoretical astrophysics, including the formation and evolution of planetary systems, clustered star formation and its relation to galaxy formation, and cosmological aspects of massive black hole evolution.

Before beginning graduate school at Berkeley, I completed my undergraduate degrees in physics and Berkeley. I grew up in Michigan not far from Ann Arbor, but couldn't stand the cold and so ever since I graduated high school I've been hiding out here in California.

In my free time, I run/race (~10k-half marathons), hike, and rewatch my favorite TV series (e.g., The West Wing, Doctor Who, Star Trek...) or reread my favorite books (e.g., The Name of the Wind, Ender's Game) over and over. I also enjoy all things hummus: eating hummus, talking incessantly about hummus, and (most recently) making hummus.
