On February 3rd 2016, Department Chair Eugene Chiang sent a letter to the Astronomy and campus community to provide an update on the various actions taken to prevent harassment and improve the overall climate within the department. Among these are the creation of the Astronomy Climate Advisors, a group comprising Astronomy Faculty, Staff, Postdoc, Graduate Student, and Undergraduate representatives whose mission it is to be educated on issues of sexual harassment and discrimination. The Climate Advisors are available to anyone in the Department to identify and navigate the various reporting methods on campus. The Department has also created new webpages that serve as an up-to-date collection of all available confidential and non-confidential reporting resources on campus. "The work is ongoing," Prof. Chiang states,  "but I am personally heartened by the degree to which our actions have been concrete and substantive".
