The Massive and Distant Clusters of WISE Survey (MaDCoWS) is a comprehensive program to detect and characterize the most massive galaxy clusters at z~1 over the full extragalactic sky. I will give an overview of the survey and present recent results within the PanSTARRS footprint from our ongoing follow-up programs, including confirmation of the second most massive galaxy cluster known at z>1. I will discuss our Spitzer program to characterize the MaDCoWS cluster population, the complementarity of MaDCoWS with other ongoing high-redshift cluster searches, and finally prospects for extending the reach of wide-area infrared cluster searches out to z~2.
