Biography
Mariska Kriek obtained both her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in astronomy from Leiden University, in the Netherlands. After completing her Ph.D., she was an H. N. Russell Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University and a Clay Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. She joined the faculty of the Berkeley Astronomy Department in January 2012.

The MOSDEF Survey

The MOSFIRE Deep Evolution Field (MOSDEF) survey is a large multi-year project with the 10-meter Keck I Telescope to observe the stellar, gaseous, metal, dust, and black hole content of ~1500 galaxies when the Universe was 1.5 to 4.5 billion years old.
