I am a Colombian astronomer investigating the first-born galaxies and black holes in the universe and their role in the Epoch of Reionization. I got the IMPRS Fellowship to do PhD studies at the International Max Planck Research School in Heidelberg, Germany, where I specialized on characterizing the environments of the first quasars hosting supermassive black holes using multiwavelength observations (ultraviolet to radio). I then moved to my first postdoc at the University of California, Los Angeles where I led a collaboration on the "BORG-JWST survey" characterizing the physical properties of UV-bright galaxies in the early universe. I also worked on gravitationally-lensed UV-faint systems.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley where I work primarily with JWST observations, in combination with multiwavelength data to study galaxies and black holes in the early universe.
