Chung-Pei Ma is the Judy Chandler Webb Professor in Physical Sciences and Professor of Astronomy and of Physics at UC Berkeley. She received both her undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before joining the Berkeley faculty in 2002, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology and an Assistant and Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania, where she won the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. Ma was the cosmology scientific editor for The Astrophysical Journal in 2007...
Raffaella Margutti received her undergraduate degree in Astrophysics in 2006 (magna cum laude), and her PhD in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Milano Bicocca in 2010. Margutti is a Sloan Fellow in Physics (2019), a CIFAR global scholar in Gravity and the Extreme Universe (2019), and received the 2022 New Horizons in Physics Prize for leadership in laying foundations for electromagnetic observations of sources of gravitational waves, and leadership in extracting rich information from the first observed collision of two neutron stars.

I am currently an Associate Professor in the Astronomy Department and director of the UC Berkeley Radio Astronomy Laboratory. I received an A.S. from Colorado Northwestern Community College in 1998 while in high school, and a B.A. from Harvard in 2002 in physics and mathematics working with Paul Horowitz. I worked as a development engineer at the Space Sciences Laboratory from 2002 to 2004 with Dan Werthimer. I received my Ph.D. in 2009 from UC Berkeley working with Don Backer, spending the years from 2007 to 2009 as a predoctoral researcher at Arecibo Observatory. I spent two years as an...
Uros Seljak joined Berkeley as a faculty in 2008, jointly appointed with LBNL. He received his B.S. in 1989 and M.S. in 1991 from Ljubljana University, Slovenia and his PhD in 1995 from MIT. He was a Smithsonian Fellow at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics from 1995 to 1998. Subsequently he served as a faculty at Princeton University, ICTP Trieste and Zurich University. Since 2013 he is a co-director of Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics.
Daniel comes to UC Berkeley after spending 12 years as a professor at the University of Arizona. He completed his PhD at Caltech in 2008, then moved to the University of Cambridge as an STFC Research Fellow for 3 years. He spent 2 years as a Hubble Fellow at the University of Arizona before joining the faculty in 2013.
Martin White joined Berkeley as a faculty member in 2001. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Adelaide and his PhD in 1992 from Yale and was a postdoctoral fellow at Berkeley and Chicago. Subsequently he served as a faculty member at UIUC and Harvard before joining the Berkeley faculty in Astronomy and Physics.
